- Paper: Our “Classic Collection” invitations and announcements are digitally printed on 100% post consumer recycled paper. The environmentally friendly paper used is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). In addition, the paper is manufactured carbon neutral and with 100% renewable electric energy.
- Envelopes: In order to give an extra touch of sophistication, the envelopes that complement our wedding invitations are made of 100% cotton paper that comes from recovered cotton materials from the textile industry. However, the envelopes that enclose our announcements and invitations all have 100% recycled content with 30% post consumer waste. The pulp used comes from 100% certified sustainable forests, so nothing is taken from the environment that is not given back. Also, the paper mill is located on a river and uses hydroelectricity.
- Printing: The printing of our products is done using a digital press that uses a chemistry-free toner, which emits zero Volatile Organic Compound (VOC's). The printer also uses clean, sustainable wind power to run the equipment.
- Ink: The printing of our products is done using vegetable-based inks, which are less harmful to the environment than their petroleum-based counterparts. There are several types of vegetable-based printing inks, including linseed (Flax), tung (Chinawood), castor, canola, and safflower. Most manufacturers of soy and vegetable based inks today actually "blend" ingredients, in order to take advantage of the unique characteristics of each oil.
- By implementing these practices, we are doing our part to help the environment in the following ways:
- Saving an approximate of 24 trees per each ton of paper
- Reducing waste
- Saving energy
- Reducing water usage
