A stunning mixture of silver and gemstone beads, this necklace alternates disks, flat ovals and tiny round carnelian beads with .925 sterling silver Surin beads. The graduated design is spectacular. 19 inches long with a claw clasp closure.
Silversmiths in Surin, northeastern Thailand use simple tools to create distinctive beads from pure silver. The decorative patterns are hand-etched onto the surface of each bead. This painstaking intricate process, from the centuries-old Khmer Angkor kingdom, survives in only one small community. Click on the "Social Responsibility" tab to learn more about Fair Trade.
